What image formats can I convert from and to?

Which output format should I choose?
For web use, WEBP offers the best balance of quality and file size with broad browser support. JPEG is best for photographs and universal compatibility. PNG is ideal for graphics, screenshots, and images requiring transparency. AVIF provides the smallest file sizes but has limited browser support. BMP and TIFF are best for archival and print. ICO is specifically for favicons and application icons.
What happens when I convert a transparent image to JPEG?
JPEG does not support transparency. When converting images with transparency (like PNG or WEBP with alpha channels) to JPEG, any transparent areas will be filled with the background color you choose. By default, we use white — but you can select any color in the settings panel.
Is there a limit on file size or batch count?
Each image can be up to 100 MB in size. You can convert up to 100 images in a single batch. For very large files or large batches, processing time depends on your device's performance — our interface stays responsive throughout.
Can I convert SVG files to raster formats?
Yes! SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) files are supported as input. When you upload an SVG, we render it onto a canvas at your chosen dimensions and export it as a raster image in your selected output format. This is perfect for converting logos and icons to PNG or JPEG.

Lossy formats like JPEG, WEBP, and AVIF reduce file size by discarding some visual information that is less noticeable to the human eye. Lossless formats like PNG, BMP, and TIFF preserve every pixel exactly. For web use, a quality setting of 80-85% on lossy formats typically offers an excellent balance of quality and file size.

Transparency Support by Format

PNG, WEBP, AVIF, TIFF, and ICO support transparency (alpha channels). JPEG and BMP do not. When converting a transparent image to a non-transparent format, the transparent areas must be filled with a solid background color. Our tool lets you choose this color — white is the safe default.
