What ForgePlug Is

ForgePlug is a collection of free, browser-based utility tools for developers, creators, students, and professionals. Most tools process data entirely on your device using client-side JavaScript — your files, code, and personal data never leave your browser for those tools. Some features (the contact form, support donations) do involve sending data to our servers, and this policy explains exactly what happens in each case.

Browser-Side Processing

The majority of ForgePlug tools — including PDF tools, image tools, developer utilities, health calculators, finance calculators, and writing tools — process data entirely in your browser. When you use these tools:

  • Your data stays on your device at all times
  • No network requests transmit your content to our servers
  • Results are computed instantly without server round-trips
  • You can work offline once the page is loaded

These tools use client-side libraries (pdf-lib, Canvas API, ONNX Runtime Web, and others) to process files and compute results locally. We do not have access to, store, or transmit the data you enter into these tools.

Features That Transmit Data

Some ForgePlug features do send data to our servers or third-party services. These are clearly distinguished below:

Contact Form

When you submit a message through our contact form, we collect your name (optional), email address, message category, and message content. This information is stored in a Firebase Realtime Database and used to respond to your inquiry. An email notification is also sent via the Resend email service. We do not use this information for marketing purposes.

Support Donations

If you make a voluntary support donation through Razorpay, Razorpay processes your payment information according to their privacy policy. We record only the currency and donation amount (no email, name, IP, or payment card details) in our database for internal tracking. We do not store payment card information.

Paid Tool Unlocks

Some tools (such as the Bulk URL Checker) offer a one-time paid unlock for a larger run, processed through the same Razorpay integration. Payment is verified server-side, and on success we issue a short-lived, single-use unlock token — a random code with no personal data attached — that is redeemed automatically for that one run and expires shortly after. We do not store your name, email, or payment card details, and we do not keep any permanent record of the transaction beyond what Razorpay itself retains.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information, and only for specific purposes:

  • Server Logs — Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically collects standard server logs including IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, and page request timestamps. This data is used exclusively for operational monitoring, security, and debugging. We do not correlate this data with individual users.
  • Contact Form Submissions — Name (optional), email, category, and message content are stored in Firebase Realtime Database and sent via Resend email service to respond to your inquiry.
  • Donation Records — Currency and amount only (no personal identifiers) are stored in Firebase Realtime Database.
  • Consent Preference— Your cookie consent choice (accept/decline) is stored in your browser's localStorage.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect names, emails, or personal information from tool usage
  • We do not store the files, code, or data you process with our tools
  • We do not track what specific content you format, convert, or calculate
  • We do not require account creation or sign-up for any tool
  • We do not sell or share personal information with third parties

Cookies

We use minimal cookies and browser storage solely for functionality and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising:

  • forgeplug-theme — Stores your preferred color theme (light or dark mode). Expires after 1 year. Strictly necessary.
  • forgeplug-consent — Stores your cookie consent preference (accept/decline). Persisted in localStorage.

Local Storage Usage

We use your browser's localStorage for the following purposes. All data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

  • Theme preference — Your light/dark mode choice
  • Consent status — Whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies
  • Tool usage history — Anonymous records of which tools you opened, used for homepage personalization (showing your recently used tools)
  • Tool feedback — Your helpful/not helpful votes and optional comments, stored per tool
  • Support widget state — Whether you dismissed the support prompt

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for forgeplug.com.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our site. These services are only loaded after you grant consent through our cookie consent banner. If you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded.

When consent is granted, these services may collect:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • General geographic location (country level only)
  • Referring website or traffic source

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Microsoft Clarity session recordings do not capture keystrokes, form inputs, or sensitive data.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our site. The AdSense script is only loaded after you grant consent through our cookie consent banner. If you decline, no advertising scripts are loaded and no ads are displayed.

When consent is granted, Google AdSense may use cookies and tracking technologies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can manage ad personalization settings at Google Ad Settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

  • Vercel — Hosting and CDN. Collects standard server logs for operational purposes. Vercel Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Realtime Database — Stores contact form submissions and anonymous donation records. Firebase Privacy.
  • Resend — Sends email notifications for contact form submissions. Resend Privacy Policy.
  • Razorpay — Processes voluntary support donations and paid tool unlocks. Razorpay Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics — Usage analytics (only with consent).
  • Microsoft Clarity — Session recording for UX improvement (only with consent).
  • Google AdSense — Advertising (only with consent).

Payment Processing

Support donations and paid tool unlocks are both processed by Razorpay. We do not store, collect, or have access to your payment card details, bank account information, or other financial data. Razorpay handles all payment processing in accordance with their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance standards.

For donations, we record only the currency and amount for internal tracking purposes. For paid tool unlocks, we do not keep any record beyond a short-lived, single-use token with no personal data attached. No email, name, IP address, or payment identifiers are stored by ForgePlug for either.

Data Retention

  • Tool data — Not retained. Tool data stays in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab or clear your browser data.
  • Contact form submissions — Retained in Firebase until we respond to your inquiry, then deleted.
  • Donation records — Currency and amount retained indefinitely for internal accounting.
  • Server logs — Retained for a maximum of 30 days by our hosting provider for security and operational purposes, then automatically deleted.
  • localStorage data — Retained on your device until you clear it.

Data Deletion

Since most ForgePlug tools process data entirely in your browser, there is no server-side tool data to delete. Your tool data is stored only in your browser and is automatically cleared when you close the tab or clear your browser data.

To request deletion of your contact form submission or any other data we hold, please contact us.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we collect. All data transmissions use HTTPS encryption. We do not store sensitive personal information beyond what is described in this policy. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

ForgePlug is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International Visitors

ForgePlug is hosted in the United States. If you access our site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using our site, you consent to such transfers.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

  • The right to access information we hold about you
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to opt out of analytics tracking (via our cookie consent banner)
  • The right to be informed about data processing
